Amber Matalus- 15 East Head Coach 2021

Amber is excited to start her first year at Metro Volleyball Club. She will be taking on our Metro East 15's Team and is looking forward to working with young athletes. Amber just moved to the District of Columbia to earn a Master’s Degree in Global Security at American University, after studying Political Science and International Relations at Virginia Wesleyan University. 
 
Amber Matalus grew up playing volleyball in Colorado Springs, CO before moving to Virginia Beach to play collegiately at Virginia Wesleyan University. There, Amber was a four-year starter, a two-time All-ODAC First Team Player, a two-time All-Region First Team Player, and a two-time All-American Honorable Mention.
 
Starting her senior year of high school, Amber took on a developmental coaching position at Colorado Summit Volleyball Club in her hometown. Once she moved to Virginia Beach, she started coaching club volleyball at Outbreak Volleyball Club. Most recently, Amber coached at Beach Elite Volleyball Club for two years as the 18 Red coach then the 16 Red Coach.
