Kelly McCaddin - 16 Travel Assistant Coach - 2021

Metro VBC Kelly McCaddin - 16 Travel Assistant Coach - 2021
“Heading to my 5th season with 16 Travel has me excited for the future! We’ve had great success at the Open level over the last few seasons and I expect the same competitive level from this year’s team as well. I consider myself very lucky to be around a high IQ coaching staff and players with a competitive spirit and willingness to learn.”

Originally from New Jersey, Kelly McCaddin arrived in the DC area in August 2011 to play for American University under coach Barry Goldberg. Three out of Kelly’s four years included conference championships and NCAA tournament berths. Her Junior season was AU’s most successful year ever, with Kelly reaching career highs in almost every category and gaining All-League recognition.

After leading her team in blocking and hitting categories her Senior season, Kelly graduated in May 2015 with a B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Marketing. In August 2015, Kelly went out to Pamplona, Navarre, Spain to compete for GH Leadernet Navarcable’s team C.D. Iruña.

Kelly has been with Metro, specifically with 16 Travel, for 4 seasons. 3 of these seasons has resulted in an Open Bid to Nationals where two out the 3 teams has finished in the top 15. Though last season was cut short, 2019-2020 16 Travel competed at a high level throughout open tournaments.
