“I am excited to continue with the Metro family and to be able to work with some of the best athletes in the greater DMV area. Metro is a club filled with incredible volleyball talent and has become a top club on the east coast, I’m excited to continue to grow the athletes and the success of the club. This will be my third season at 17's and I look forward to continuing the success this year with a new group.” 

Kyle returns to Metro Travel as the 17 Assistant Coach for the 3rd year after a successful seasons qualifying for Open for USAV Girls Junior National Championships.  Kyle Thompson is in his fourth year as the Director of  Volleyball Operations as well as the Interim Assistant Coach at the University of Maryland. Prior to Maryland, Kyle was the Program Coordinator for the volleyball team at the University of Washington in the 2016 season where the Huskies captured the Pac-12 championship and advanced to the Elite 8.

Kyle has a masters from the University of Washington in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership and a bachelors from Texas Lutheran University where he was a four year letter winner in their tennis program and also served as the student assistant coach for the volleyball program.
