Doug Stevenson is joining metro for the first year to assist in coaching.  He has multiple years coaching volleyball at the junior levels, serving as the head coach for the BSM's 7th/8th grade teams for 3 years, and as a head coach for Fort Hunt Volleyball 7th/8th grade team for two years.

During his time in the Navy, Doug was selected as a player on the Navy's Tidewater Regional Team and played as an opposite hitter. Doug played with the team for 3 years, learning the solid foundations of formal, competitive volleyball.  Since then, Doug has played organized volleyball for over 20 years. He competes routinely in USAV and AVP sanctioned leagues and tournaments across multiple formats, including indoor 6 teams.  

Doug spent 9 years active duty in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Qualified Mechanic.  After the Navy, Doug obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University, and an MBA from the College of William & Mary.  Doug serves as  a Vice President for WSP, the world's leading design, build engineering firm.  He specifically works in WSP's consulting branch - Advisory Services, helping clients to optimize their engineering and maintenance practices.
