"After 37 of playing volleyball, I’m thrilled that I’m still able to play the game and even more excited that I get to share my knowledge through coaching. I want to help grow the game and teach athletes how to be strong, competitive, positive and successful team players.”

Anna Huerta will be taking on a new age group this year in her seventh year as a Metro Volleyball Club. Anna will be the head coach of the South Fairfax 16’s team this season. She has coached girl's teams at the 14's, 16's, 17's and 18's levels with Metro Volleyball Club and a previous club.

In the 2018 season, Metro South FX 14's fought for a goal and a silver medal in two regional tournaments. They also won the silver medal at Irish Rumble in the 14's Silver Bracket. In 2019, the Metro South FFX 18's had a very competitive season and battled for silver in multiple tournaments. The 2020 18's South PW team was very competitive and won gold and silver medals before having the season cut short. The 2021 Metro 18’s PW season was very competitive as the team finished silver runner-up in multiple tournaments. The Metro South PW 18’s team had a competitive season in 2022 and finished as the gold runner up in the Northeast Power Series Championships. The Metro South 18’s 2023 team grew to be a very competitive team with solid finishes in final competitions of the season.

Anna is Impact, CAP I and CAP II certified with USA Volleyball. She is dedicated to helping athletes improve. One of Anna's goals is to grow the game in the DC region and share her love of the game with young athletes. Anna strives to build well-rounded athletes that can be a part of a cohesive and competitive team. Her key qualifications and skills include planning relevant practice lessons, teaching fundamental volleyball skills, implementing differentiated instruction for individual positions and athletes and designing drills and practices that help athletes transfer skills from practice into games. She has directed camps and clinics and is involved with many off-season Metro camps and clinics. She has been instrumental in helping several athletes play collegiate volleyball at all division levels. She encourages self-motivation, exceptional performance and has high expectations of the athletes she works with.

Anna has 17 years of experience as a high school head volleyball coach. She led the Forest Park High School Volleyball team as the head coach for 12 years. She had 12 consecutive winning seasons as the head coach at Forest Park High School, a 6A VA high school. She has an overall high school head coach record of 290-124 and a record of 225-91 at FPHS. As the FPHS head coach, she had 11 District Championship appearances, 5 District Championships, 12 Regional Playoff appearances, 6 Regional Quarterfinal appearances, 5 Regional Semi-Final appearances, one Regional Finals/State Quarter-Final appearance and won the VA State Congeniality title in 2013. Anna is a visual artist and high school art teacher with 30 years of teaching experience. She is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. She also has a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Anna has played volleyball for over 37 years. Anna's volleyball playing experience includes high school, division II collegiate volleyball, USAV adult play in the CHRVA Region, and league play.

Anna has three children that are all competitive volleyball players.

Chloe enters her first year coaching for Metro Volleyball Club and has been playing volleyball since she was 12 years old. Chloe grew up in the DMV where she played for multiple clubs in the area. She even spent some of her club season playing club beach volleyball for a few years. She ended her club season in 2018 with a club Top Team in Virginia. While playing club volleyball, she also helped coach a 15s club volleyball team in Virginia, while coaching at her local middle school and recreational gym for a few years. When Chloe was in her 16s year of club, she committed to Salisbury University to play indoor volleyball. At Salisbury, Chloe was an assistant coach at their collegiate summer camp every year working with players ranging from middle school to seniors in high school.

Chloe graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts - double major in English (Writing and Rhetoric) and Communications (Public Relations and Strategic Communications), while serving as the team captain of the volleyball team her last two years. Being a student athlete was a life changing experience for her, both physically and mentally. Her goal is to help players, specifically in the transition stages of high school to college, feel comfortable while also giving them advice on the recruiting process and playing at the collegiate level.

In addition to coaching, Chloe works for a video production marketing agency in Old Town Alexandria. She loves staying active, watching movies, cooking, rooting for D.C. sports, and of course playing recreational indoor and beach volleyball.

"I'm excited to return to the 15 age group, where I am able to help athletes grow at the competitive level and get acclimated to the Metro club volleyball culture."

Felicia enters her second season with Metro!  She played Division II volleyball at Concord University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design in 2017. Each summer she returned to campus to help coach the program's summer camp, alongside her teammates. During the summer of 2016, she also travelled to various campuses on the east coast to coach girls and boys at Nike Overnight Volleyball Camps.

Felicia made a noticeable impact on the Gar-field Senior High School volleyball program as the varsity head coach for the 2018 season. She led her team to place 2nd in the silver bracket at the No Panic Cassel's Classic. Huerta kicked off her club coaching experience as the assistant coach for the 16s girls’ team for the 2018-2019 season for another local club. They finished 5th in the CHRVA region and earned a bid to USAV Nationals. Felicia returned for a second season to assist the 18s girls’ team, that finished in 5th place at NEQ before the season’s early end due to COVID-19. This will be Huerta's second season with the Metro 15 South FX team.

In addition to coaching, Felicia has continued to play in highly competitive volleyball leagues and tournaments. In May of 2022, she completed her Master of Business degree in Marketing from Florida Institute of Technology.

“I am very excited to join Metro VBC. I am a firm believer in development. I think Metro is a perfect place to help young athletes develop their skills. I am looking forward to a great season.”

Nikki is joining Metro Volleyball Club for her first season. Nikki began her volleyball journey as a defensive specialist while attending school in Chiangmai, Thailand. Nikki continued to play recreational volleyball (Co-Ed BB) and while serving in the US Army, she was handpicked to play as a setter where she contributed to the team by winning Post-Level Volleyball Competitions for three consecutive years. She retired from the US Army in March 2011 with 20 years of service.

Nikki serves as a league director and a coach for a local youth club  in various sports. Her focus on children development and her volunteer services earned her a Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM) and SYC Merrill Award. She is a member of National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) – Level 3 Coach (Volleyball).

Nikki is a graduate of George Washington University where she earned a Master of Art in Education and Human Development with concentration in Education Technology Leadership

Owen has been coaching volleyball at every level from middle school through college in the DC and Tidewater regions since 2007. A 2006 graduate of Pepperdine University, where he studied under legendary men's volleyball coach Marv Dunphy, Owen first started coaching volleyball at National Cathedral School, and has since coached with Metro Central, Bishop Ireton High School, Williamsburg Volleyball Club, Walsingham Academy, and is currently an assistant coach at Marymount University in Arlington. Owen also teaches physical education and coaches basketball at Barrie School in Silver Spring, and when not driving all over the DMV to one of those locations can be found cooking, watching baseball, or relaxing with his fiancée and their two dogs, Mulder and Chidi.

"Volleyball has been my one and only sport growing up, and I can’t wait to share my passion for it. I’m very excited to start another year coaching with Metro!"

Rachel started coaching volleyball at the Boys and Girls Club, and coached for them for three seasons, before becoming the Freshman coach for Osbourn High School. She recently became the Varsity Head Coach for Osbourn High School and is looking forward to coaching with Metro for her second year assisting the 14s. Rachel started playing volleyball in 8th grade and was hooked. She played all throughout high school and occasionally plays recreational.

When she’s not coaching, Rachel is at home cuddling her beagle, Pidge, or at her full time job working at an animal hospital as a Veterinary Assistant. She is currently in school to get her Veterinary Technician License."
